About Jake Chasan
Jake Chasan is an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York, NY.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Computer Science, achieving distinction in both disciplines. His thesis was Redefining Resource Allocation in Computing Systems, where he proposed a system of market-based algorithms that allocate computing power which achieve higher user performance on existing hardware and can help extend the existing technology infrastructure of developing economies in a cost-effective manner. Prior to studying at Duke, he completed his pre-collegiate studies in Computer Science and Statistics at Stanford.
While studying at Duke, Jake worked concurrently at Cisco Systems in their business evolution and digitization group, where he invented a cost-saving procedure for building programs and worked on the patent process. At Duke he was also a lecturing teaching assistant, where was part of a team that taught discrete mathematics.
One of Jake's hobbies is building apps and websites. his second app, Office Trivia Quiz was the second most downloaded paid trivia app in the App Store. Since 2008, he has built over 40 websites and 20 apps for iOS, macOS, and Android.
He serves on the Board of Prep for Prep, an organization in New York City dedicated to connecting students of color to educational and career opportunities. Additionally, he is an Eagle Scout, winner of the inaugural Congressional App Challenge, and recipient of the Congressional Gold Metal.
